Queen of Peace Parish is now an official designated site for a Shrine to the Infant Jesus of Prague

By the permission of Bishop Raymond Roussin, the Enthronement of the Statue of the Infant Jesus was celebrated following the 5:00pm Mass on Sat. Aug.30, 2003. Upon the invitation of Queen of Peace Pastor, Rev. Bernard Hanley, Fr. Jerome Moras from the Shrine of the Infant Jesus in Prague, the Czech Republic, was the main celebrant of the Mass and for the Enthronement ceremony. Joining Fr. Moras and Fr. Hanley in the celebration was Fr. Jerry D’Souza who originates from Mangalore, India, where there is also a Shrine to the Infant Jesus of Prague.
Choir members from the Filipino Community of the Vancouver area, joined the Queen of Peace Choir.

‘The Little King has been enthroned as the Great King of the world to assist his subjects in their trials, difficulties and crosses. He who Himself has suffered so much desires to assist those who come to Him. He wishes to attract all hearts to His own through the attractiveness of His Divine Infancy.”

Following the ceremony, a dinner was held in the Community Centre and the Filipino choir entertained everyone after the dinner. A truly wonderful and blessed evening was enjoyed by all!

Weekly Devotions to the Infant of Prague will be held every Thursday, immediately following the noon Mass, beginning on the 18th of September 2003. The Devotion, which will be held each week throughout the year, will conclude with the Anointing of the Sick.
